GILLIAM MITCHELL SCOTT

Gilliam Mitchell Scott, 24, of Eastwind Community, Tecumseh, formerly of Fleetwood, Pennsylvania, died suddenly on Saturday, December 12, 2009 from complications related to his struggle with a rare form of GBM brain tumor. His mother and friends were at his side.

He was presently employed at the Eastwind Community in nut butter manufacturing operations as a roaster, and had been serving as the Board of Directors chairperson. Gil was a graduate of Fleetwood Area High School in 2003, and had worked in Pennsylvania at the Berkleigh Country Club and Bear Creek Ski Resort.

Gil enjoyed the outdoors and a rural life with his friends and companions. He was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking, bicycling, hiking, hunting, and playing strategy card games. Gil was very creative and always ready to serve others, being generous with his time and resources.

Gil is survived by his parents, Wendy and Jim Scott of Fleetwood, PA, and his brother, Ian, of Topton, PA. In addition, he is survived by his grandmothers: Miriam Scott of Reading, PA; Eve Wiersma of Crescent City, Florida, and grandfather, John Wiersma of the Phillippines. He is also survived by ten aunts and uncles, three cousins, and a cat.

A private gathering of remembrance will take place at the Eastwind Community.
