Gladys Medlock

Gladys Medlock the daughter of Lloyd Burge and Mable (Locke) Burge was born May 20, 1923 in Ouray, Colorado and departed this life Jan. 8, 2007 at the age of 83 years 7 months and 18 days.

Gladys was a life long resident of the area. On Aug. 26, 1942 Gladys and Tommy Medlock were united in marriage in Springfield, Missouri. Gladys and Tommy were blessed with four children. Gladys was a homemaker and a member of the Gentryville Community Church. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, hand crafts, raising flowers and bird watching.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Dick and Kenny Burge, and her husband. She is survived by two daughters, Betty Ross, Drury, MO, Golda Cain and husband, Baruch, Norwood, MO, two sons, David Medlock and wife, Penny, Vanzant, MO, Ronald Medlock and wife, Charlene, Houston, MO, 15 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 5 step great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, 1 step great-great grandchild, two sisters, Margaret Cooley and husband, Lee, Mt. Grove, MO, Lois Stoops, Brea, CA, one brother, Melvin Burge, Ft. Smith, AR, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be 1:00 P.M., Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007 in the Clinkingberad Funeral Home, Ava, MO with the Rev. J. D. Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Home Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 6 to 7 P.M. in the funeral home. Memorials may be made of the donor's choice.
