Glen G. Lovan

Glen Lovan, 75 years of age, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at his home in Dora, Missouri. He was born August 10, 1940, in West Plains, Missouri, the son of Clyde and Velma (Collins) Lovan.

Glen was married to the love of his life, Geraldine Smith, on September 5, 1959 in Gainesville, Missouri. He worked hard his whole life, as a truck driver, logger, and retired from Baxter Lab in Mountain Home in 2002.

For years, he was a staple in the Hootin' an Hollarin Parade, carrying a variety of politicians in his wagon he built himself. He was always busy outside with his horses, whether riding or working.

Glen is survived by his wife, Geraldine of Dora; his children, Dianna Sue Brundige and her husband, Danny of Yellville; Debra Ann Jeckstadt and her husband, Roger, of Gainesville; and Justin Glen Lovan and his wife, Angie, of Gainesville. Grandchildren, Casey Marie Morgan of Dora; Robert William Simpson of Springfield; Ethan Jeckstadt and his wife, Kayla, of Mountain Home; and Audrey Rose Lovan, Kady Lynn Lovan, and Ivey Jean Lovan all of Gainesville. Great-grandchildren: Austin Kent Eslinger, Taylor Marie Morgan, Daniel Joseph (DJ) Morgan, Makayla Grace Taylor all of Dora; and Emma and Kaleb Jeckstadt of Mountain Home. One brother, Lowell Lovan, and wife Sally of Dora; and sister-in-law, Freda Evans of Mountain Home; and three brother-in-laws, Steve Smith, and his wife Judy of Willow Springs; Steve Rackley of Dora; and Robby Smith and his wife, Dana, of Drury and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister-in-law, Patsy Rackley, and one brother-in-law, Doyle Evans.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 18, 2016 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel in Gainesville, MO. Visitation will be Thursday from Noon til service time. Burial will be in the Ball Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to: Ball Cemetery or Gainesville Saddle Club and can be left at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
