Glen E. Marler, 88 years, passed away on October 15, 2008 at his home in Fordland. Glen was born December 22, 1919 in Diggins, MO to Riley and Lottie (Pearcy) Marler.

Glen was employed as a Grounds Keeper. Glen loved the fruit harvest time and dinking with old cars. He enjoyed playing with his grandkids and spending time with all the family. Glen and Viola Hargis were united in marriage on 06/14/1943 in Marshfield, MO. Glen worked at Maple Park Cemetery in Springfield, MO until he retired in 1993, then moved to Fordland for the remainder of his life.

Glen was preceded by his parents, one great grandson, Troy, one brother, Arlon "Dude" Sanders, three brother-in-laws, three sister-in-laws and step father, Arlon Sanders.

Glen is survived by wife,Viola G. Marler, Fordland, MO, seven children and their spouses, Duane & Vicki Marler, Ronald & Ruth Marler, Cunningham, KY, Robert Marler, Mayfield, KY, Garry Marler, Fairgrove, MO, Steve Marler, Fordland, MO, Caroline Genanatti, Mayfield, KY and Donna & Bob Farrell, Grant City, MO, 23 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter, three sisters, Lorean English, Baxter Springs, KS, Eunice Sanders, Monett, MO and Verna May Helms, Eugene, OR, one brother, Eugene Sanders, Oregon, many nieces and nephews. Other relatives, sister-in-law, Elizabeth & Bill Lupton, Fordland, MO, brother-in-law, Raymond & Celesta Hargis, Chadwick, MO and other relatives and friends.


Graveside services for Glen will be Monday, Oct. 20, 2008, 10:00 a.m. at the Easter Cemetery in Webster County, MO. Visitation will be Sunday, October 19, 2008 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. Officiating will be Rev. Dale Roller. Memorials may be made to Easter Cemetery.
