Goldie L. Sutherland, 90 years, 8 months, and 4 days old, passed to heaven on December 10, 2010 at The Maples in Springfield, MO.
Goldie was born April 6, 1920 in Roy, MO to Homer and Amy (Sanders) Rosseau.
On November 29, 1940 Goldie and Ralph Sutherland were united in marriage in Bethany, MO and to this union two sons were born.
Goldie was a lifelong resident of the Ava community. She was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Ava.
Goldie enjoyed gardening, cooking, quilting and spending time with her grandchildren.
Goldie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ralph in 1996, two sisters, Elva Matthews and Velma Melton Cross.
Goldie is survived by two sons and their spouses, Jerry & Arlene Sutherland, Springfield, MO and Rodger & Pat Sutherland, Ozark, MO, five grandchildren, Heather Cook, Chris, Ryan, Andy and Ben Sutherland, 11 great grandchildren,two sisters, Dorothy Burton and Delpha Roller both of Ava, MO, three brothers, Norman and Delmar Rosseau both of Ava, MO and Marvin Rosseau, Yakima, WA, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Graveside services for Goldie will be Sat. December 18, 2010, 2:00 p.m in the Ava Cemetery. Viewing will be provided Sunday afternoon, Monday and Tuesday at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. Officiating will be Grandson, Chris Sutherland.
