GORDON EUGENE "GORDY" BREWER

Gordy Brewer, 74, of Gainesville, MO passed away August 5, 2020 at his residence surrounded by family. He was born March 28, 1946 in Midland, OH to Vernon and Ruth Brewer.

He was a veteran, having proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked for many years installing glass, both for structures and for autos. He retired in 2010. He enjoyed fishing, working on old cars, barbequing and especially loved to sing karaoke. He liked to travel with his family and was the kind of man who helped anyone in need. He and his wife of 50 years, Carrie, moved to Gainesville in 2018. He was loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Brewer and Ruth Clabo; and two sisters, Patricia Summers and Betty Brewer.

He is survived by his wife, Carrie Brewer of Gainesville, MO; his children, Carrie M. Brewer and husband C.J. Wright of Gainesville, MO, Lourraine Alcorn of Poplar Bluff, MO; eight grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; one brother Dale Brewer and one sister Evelyn Clabo both of Ohio.

The family will conduct a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 10, 2020 at the family home west of Gainesville. Cremation services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
