Harley Norman "Tom" Elliott, 77 years, and 19 days old, passed away at his home with his loving family by his side on Sunday, June 14, 2015 after seven and a half years battle with cancer.

Tom was born May 25, 1938 in Evans, MO. He attended East Dogwood School.

On Dec. 2, 1958 Tom was united in marriage to Ruby Jewell Hall in Wasola, MO and to this union two sons and a daughter were born. Together, Tom and Jewell shared 56 years and 6 months of married life.

During his life Tom worked at different occupations including, logging, sawmilling and farming.

His hobbies included fishing, hunting, playing cards and spending time with his family and friends. He delighted in sharing his love of sugar popcorn with those he knew.

Tom was a Christian.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Harl and Lena Elliott, Daisy Strong, a brother, Alvin, a sister, Pauline Ellison, three step brothers, Willard, Burrell and Dan Coonts, one step sister, Eva Stephens, two nieces, a nephew, one special cousin, Harley Coonts whom gave his nickname, "Tom" and his in-laws, Van & Bessie Hall.

Tom is survived by his loving wife, Jewell, Ava, MO, three children and their spouses, Jeff & Ronda Elliott and James & Tammy Elliott all of Ava, MO and Bonita & Floyd Winingham, Louisville, Nebraska, four grandchildren, Shaun & LeAnna Elliott, Joseph & Amanda Elliott, Ashley Elliott, Caitlin Elliott, four great grandchildren, MaKayla, Logan, Owen, and Nora Elliott, six siblings, Albert Elliott, Ava, MO, Lorene Thurman, Van Buren, MO, Dortha Elliott, Mtn. Grove, MO, Nadine Crisp, Seymour, MO, Corrine Bell, Hartville, MO and Kay Pfister, Branson, MO, one step sister, Geneva Heinlein, Ava, MO, brother-in-law, J.C. Hall, Ava, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Tom will be Wednesday, June 17, 2015, 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Visitation will be Tues. from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Raymond Haden and Rev. Marvin Loftin. Memorials may be made to Mt. Tabor Cemetery or Neighbor Helping Neighbor.
