HARLIN CLAYTON

Joe Harlin Clayton, Theodosia, MO passed away February 2, 2009 at Skaggs Hospital in Branson, MO at the age of 65 years. He was born June 14, 1943 in Gainesville, MO the son of Hillis Clayton and Beaulah (Mahan) Clayton Mashburn.

He married Donna Gibbs on May 22, 1965 in Kansas City, MO. Harlin was a hard worker, a good husband, father and grandpa. He worked at Owens & Illinois Paper Company in North Kansas City for 15 years. He then returned to his passion of farming in Theodosia, MO with his wife and two daughters. He loved to be outdoors doing anything from hunting, fishing, or woodworking, but his heart and soul was watching his grandchildren barrel race. He always enjoyed the many hours of visiting with friends and family. He was one of a kind and will be missed dearly.

He is survived by his wife Donna of the home; two daughters Shelly Wood of Licking, MO and Shanna Clayton of St. Louis, MO; his mother Beaulah Mashburn of Theodosia, MO; two granddaughters Ashley and Shelby Ellison; two stepsisters Cathy Goodman of Mountain Grove, MO and Connie Stevenson of Mountain View, MO; and one stepbrother Ronnie Clayton of Mountain Grove, MO.

He was preceded in death by his father Hillis Clayton; his stepfather Tilford Mashburn; and one brother Hervil Dee Clayton.

Funeral services will be 2:00PM on Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home with Jimmy Hillhouse officiating. Interment will be in the Hicks Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from Noon to service time at the funeral home.
