HAROLD J. "TEX" DOTSON

Harold J. "Tex" Dotson, 87, of Gainesville, MO passed away March 18, 2021 at Gainesville Healthcare Center. He was born August 8, 1933 in Bald Knob, AR to Clyde Lyman and Perolar Belle (Baxter) Dotson.

Tex was an ironworker from Local #112 in Peoria, IL and a well-known car dealer since 1955. He owned T&R Motors, Tecumseh Motors, and Dotson Auto Sales, in Mtn Home, AR. Tex was a real character whose humor and antics will always be remembered by all that knew him.

Tex married Bonita Jean Thompson in West Plains, MO in 1952 and to that union three children were born.

He is survived by his three children Angela Joy Dotson of West Plains, MO, Jeffery Allen Dotson of Gainesville, MO, and Daniel Edward Dotson of Mtn Home, AR; seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and many friends and acquaintances.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Adeline Burge and her husband Dick; and one grandson Travis Roy Williams.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2021 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO with Jeff Dotson officiating. Visitation will be Friday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. to service time. Burial will be in the Homeland Cemetery, West Plains, MO. Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
