HAROLD L. MAINE JR
(HAROLD THE GREAT)
Harold Leroy Maine Jr., 68, of Gainesville, MO passed away on November 25, 2018 at his residence. He was born May 25, 1950 in Boise, Idaho, son of Harold Leroy Sr. and Elener (Fry) Maine.
Harold grew up in Bakersfield, MO and graduated from Bakersfield High School in 1969. He spent most of his life as an over the road "Big Rig" truck driver. On September 6, 1991 he was united in marriage to Hope Lease. The couple moved to Gainesville in the early 1990s. After his retirement, Harold enjoyed being at home with Hope and his canine friends Blacky, Bootsy and Joy. He loved to fish, visiting with family and friends, and watching TV.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Elener Maine; and one sister-in-law Patty Maine. He is survived by his wife Hope Maine of the home in Gainesville; his siblings Chrystina Johnston and husband Fred of Bakersfield, MO, Phillip Maine and wife Bennie of Lincoln, NE, James Maine of Jackson, TN, Elnona Hall and husband Richard of Torrington, CT; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2018 in the Mt Pleasant Cemetery near Udall, MO with Curtis Tackitt officiating.
