Harold Wesley Metcalf, 70 years, 6 months, 7 days old, passed away on September 4, 2019 at his home with family by his side.
Harold was born February 28, 1949 in Crossroads, MO in Douglas County to Clayborn T. and Flona May (McIntosh) Metcalf. Harold was the oldest of seven children.
Harold was retired from working as owner and operator of an irrigation company in Kansas.
Harold and Sylvia Rodriguez were united in marriage on August 3,1985 in Ulysses, KS and to this union they were blessed with a son Andrew.
Harold was a Christian. He enjoyed fishing, drinking his coffee, swimming, boating, eating any kind of soup and mexican food with extra jalopenos, gardening, and dancing. He shared his garden with all his friends and family. Harold enjoyed working with any kind of heavy equipment and his favorite car was a 70's Lincoln Continental. To Harold, his son, Andy was his biggest accomplishment.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sylvia in 2018, and one sister, Betty Gardner, and a close nephew, Clay Metcalf.
Harold is survived by his son, Andrew Metcalf of Camdenton, MO,
five siblings and their spouses, Ellen & Billy Everett of Ava, Dovie & Ernie Metcalf of Disney, OK, Martha Cox of Ava, Kathy Bray of Ava and Dale & Louise Hall of Ava, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Harold will be Monday, September 9, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Union Grove Cemetery, southwest of Ava. Visitation will be Sunday, Sept. 8 th from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
Officiating will be Pastor Danny Brimm.
