Hazel E. Hurst

Hazel E. Hurst, the daughter of Marion and Nancy E. (North ) Bushong was born Feb. 4, 1917 in Brixey, MO and passed to heaven on January 23, 2010 at the age of 92 years, 11 months, and 19 days.

Hazel was a resident of Souder, MO for most of her life. She had lived in the Mtn. Grove area for the past 17 years. Hazel and Lee Hurst were united in marriage on July 31, 1935 in Gainesville, MO.

Hazel and Lee were blessed with three children. Hazel was a housewife and liked cooking, gardeneing and quilting.

She was a member of the Souder Church of Christ in Souder, Missouri.

Hazel was preceded by her parents and husband Lee, and all of her brothers and sisters, she was the last of 10 children.


Hazel is survived by two sons, Elmes and Shirley Hurst of Mtn.Grove, Argene and Judy Hurst of Mulvane Kansas, and daughter Eilene Partee and husband Curtis of Bull Shoals Arkansas, 6 Grandsons and 2 Granddaughters, 20 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.


Funeral services for Hazel will be Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at 2:00 P.M. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Souder Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 26, 2010 from 1 till 2 P.M. in the funeral home. Officiating will be E.J. Hampton. Memorials may be made to Souder Cemetery.
