HELEN MARIE HART BLISARD
(November 23, 1921 – October 5, 2013

Helen Hart Blisard, age 91, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2013, in Gainesville, Missouri. She was born to Ida Herd Hart and Sterling Price Hart on November 23, 1921, at Dugginsville, Missouri.

She married William Joseph Blisard April 26, 1940. In April they celebrated their73rd wedding anniversary. She graduated from Gainesville High School. Helen retired from teaching in 1986 having taught 37 years. She began teaching in Ozark County in country schools Locust and Brushy Knob. Most of her teaching career, however, was in the Gainesville R-V District where for years she taught first grade, a career she dearly loved. In the mid-forties she and Joe Bill decided to try living in California where she worked in a laundry doing ironing. They decided to return to Ozark County and there they stayed. They have always remembered their trip along Route 66.

Helen is survived by her husband, Joe Bill, and 1 child, Rex (Janice); two grandchildren, Sam and Shasta.

Visitation is from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 10, 2013, at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home Chapel, Gainesville, MO with services immediately following. Burial will be in the Lutie Cemetery. Arrangements are through Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Gainesville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent in her name to the Lutie Cemetery and left at the
funeral home.
