Helen Mae Hodges the daughter of George Switzer and Maud (Herrell) Switzer was born Oct. 17, 1915 in Douglas County, Missouri and departed this life Aug. 12, 2007 at the age of 91 years 9 months and 17 days.
Helen was life long resident of the Ava area. On Feb. 11, 194l Helen and Harold Hodges were united in marriage in Yellville, AR. They were blessed with a daughter, Lena. Helen was employed with Rawlings Sporting Goods as a seamstress before her retirement. She was a member of the Mt. Tabor Church.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Thelma Jarman and Clair Lakey and her husband, Harold. Helen is survived by her daughter, Lena F. Sexton and her husband, Don, Phillipsburg, MO, two grandchildren, Tim Sexton and his Wife Keri and Angie Bryant and her Husband Lucas, one step grand-daughter, Denise McCulloch and five great grandchildren.
Services will be 2:00 P.M., Wed. Aug. 15, 2007 in the Mt. Tabor Church with the Rev. Tom Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. Memorial may be made to Mt. Tabor Church.
