Obituary

Herbert R. Leser the son of Herbert Ralph Leser and Virginia Jean (McNeil) Leser was born Aug. 18, 1937 in Northbrook, IL and departed this life Aug. 10, 2006 in his home in Ava at the age of 68 years 11 months and 22 days.

On Aug. 30, 1982 Herbert and Georgia Raydene Lindsey were united in marriage in Miami, Oklahoma.

Herbert was a resident of Ava for the past 3 years moving here from Mesa, AZ where he had lived for 20 years. Herbert was a retired Chief Aviation Structural Mechanic for the U.S. Navy and also worked for and retired from Hughes Aircraft which later became McDonnell Douglas Aircraft. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Mesa, AZ and was of the Protestant Faith. He was the first inspector of the Apache Helicopter.

Before being disabled he enjoyed motorcross racing, boating, fishing and putting together aircraft models. Herbert loved being with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bill McNeil.
He is survived by his wife, Raydene of the home in Ava, two children, Sherry Ivy Leser Weeks, Bloomfield, Indiana, Michael Todd Leser, Lakeway, Texas, four step children, Kim Sullivan, Gainesville, MO, Karla Eslinger, Ava, MO, Jeff Lamar, Gainesville, Jamie Dorum, Lakeside, Arizona, 19 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Cremation services are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. Family request that memorials be made to St. Jude Children Research Hospital or the American Lung Assoc.
