Herman Lee Atchison, Sr., 72 years, 6 months, and 6 days old, passed away on March 20, 2024 at home with his wife by his side.

Herman was born September 14, 1951 in Ava, Missouri to Marion and Elsie (Detherage) Atchison.

Herman was a Christian and loved the Lord.  He attended church until he wasn't able to.  He also preached for many years before his health worsened.

He liked hunting, spending time outdoors, and cutting fire wood.  He enjoyed football and baseball, always cheering for the Chiefs and the Cardinals.

Herman and Shirley Johnson were united in marriage on July 28, 2001 in Ava, Missouri.

Herman was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Elsie Atchison; brother, Gary Marion Atchison and grandson, Royce Atchison.

Herman is survived by his wife, Shirley; seven children, Angel Atchison, Herman Lee Atchison, Jr., Jason and Karly Atchison, Robin and Matt Hearring, Amber and James Doll, Heath Grider, and Lori and Jonathan Witchey; nine grandchildren, Chloe Witchey, Jaxson Witchey, Ravyn, Kodi, Kelsey, Grayson, Rose, Charlotte, and Nancy; two brothers and three sisters, Lowell and Chris Atchison, Noel and Donna Atchison, Carol Allen, Karan and Larry Vinson, Lena Kay Ingram; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Herman will be Friday, March 29, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Homes, Inc., Ava, Missouri with burial to follow in the Murray Cemetery, Squires, Missouri.  Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 PM to service time.  Officiating will be Brother Bub Coonce. Memorials may be made to Murray Cemetery.
