Herman E. Davis, 87, passed away Sat. April 7, 2007 at Mercy Villa, Springfield, MO. He was born June 21, 1919 in Ava, MO. the son of Elmer L. Davis and Rosa L. (Brown) Davis.

Herman was a resident of Springfield, MO for the past 8 ½ years moving from Ava, MO. He was in the Banking Business for 43 years with the Citizens Bank of Ava serving as president for several years. November 26th 1939 Herman and Fern Whetsten were united in marriage and to this union three children were born. On Nov. 10, 1977 Herman and Bonnie (Walker) Clark were united in marriage in Ava, MO. He was a member of the Hopedale Church in Ozark, MO. He was very civic minded and concerned for the citizens of Douglas County.

Herman enjoyed his family, fishing and bird hunting and a made a very special fishing trip with Chris and Lance to Canada. He was a good listener and was always ready to give advice to his family and friends.

Herman was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters, Cecil O. Davis, Earnest E. Davis, Fern Wood and Christine Irby. His survivors include his wife, Bonnie of the home, Springfield, MO, three children, Carla D. Miles and Bob, Cumming, Georgia, Michael H. Davis and Peggy, Ava, MO, Vanessa D. Beard and Lynn, Ozark, MO, four step-children, Gene Clark and Linda, Ava, MO, Sherry Wilson, Ottawa, KS, Jayne Nash and Randy, Beaufort, South Carolina, and C.J. Clark, San Diego, CA, 14 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great -Great Grandchildren, and one brother, Charles Eugene Davis, Nixa, MO and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be 2:00 P.M., Wed. April 11, 2007 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with the Rev. Oren Alcorn officiating. Interment will follow in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Gideons International or Ava General Baptist Church.
