Herman Raines, 75 years of Wasola passed away on August 24, 2014. Herman was born Feb. 18, 1939 in Laredo, Texas to Herman L. Raines and Maria (Reyes) Raines.
He was a truck driver most of his life until he retired in 2002 due to ill health. He attended Ava General Baptist Church in Ava and was close to the Lord. He loved life and people and liked to joke around a lot. He would sit around and talk to his CB buddies and watch the deer, turkeys and squirrels in the yard. Herman was also a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his constant companion of 31 years, Leah Wanell Platt, four sons, Michael, John, Jerry and Eddie Raines all of Laredo, Texas, three daughters, Judy Lynn Falcon and Margaret from Pearsall, TX and Emily Raines of Arizona and children he considered to be his, two sons, Robert Lee Young of Hesperia, CA and James Richard Young & wife, Donna Pruitt of Missoula, Montana and one daughter, Audrey Harman and husband, Tuck of Salem, OR, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, one sister, Helen Raines of Texas and other relatives and friends.
Cremation services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO.
