Hervel Dean Jones

Hervel Dean Jones, 82, of Gainesville, Missouri, passed away on March 27, 2015, at the Hospice House in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Dean was born on February 6, 1933, to Clyde and Vada Jones in Ozark County.

On November 2, 1951, Dean married Norma Reynolds in Mountain Home, Arkansas, and they were blessed with 63 years together. They had two children Marty Jones and Marsha Jones Hagan. Their family expanded with three grandsons and one granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Hestel Jones, and infant grandson Jacob Hagan. He is survived by his wife Norma, his son Marty Jones (Gainesville), daughter Marsha Hagan (Bolivar), brother Norvel Jones and wife Esther (Springfield), sister Norma Whittenton and husband Truman (Ozark), and special aunt, Fern Rhoads (Springfield). Other survivors include grand¬children Charlie Jones of Leavenworth, Kansas, Ben Hagan and wife Ashley of Buffalo, and Rachel Hagan and fiancé Jason Loos of Bolivar.

As the provider and protector of his family, Dean worked many years as a business owner, salesman, and farmer. He was a faithful member of the Church of Christ since 1962. He loved the church and the church family. After his health required him to be at home most of the time this past year, he would sleep till 10 or 11 Monday through Saturday, but on Sunday morning he would wake up at the crack of dawn wanting everyone to get ready for church.
He enjoyed deer hunting, turkey hunting, fishing, and anything that involved his grandkids. He was always busy doing something for others.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2015 at the Gainesville Church of Christ with Halbert Smith and Dale Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Center Point Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday afternoon from 1 p.m. to service time at the church. Arrangements are by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO. Memorial donations are requested to the Center Point Cemetery.
