IRA CLINTON LANSDOWN

Ira Clinton Lansdown, 92, of Flippin, AR passed away on October 16, 2012 at the Twin Lakes Therapy and Living Center in Flippin. He was a long time resident of Bull Shoals, AR and more recently of Flippin, AR. Ira was born on December 21, 1919 in Ava, MO to Samuel and Hester (Miller) Lansdown.

He was united in marriage to Geneva Davis on December 30, 1939 in Ava, MO. He and Geneva lived in Ava for many years and raised their family there. He retired from the Baxter Laboratories in Mountain Home, AR and also worked for Watkins, Inc in Wichita, KS for many years. Ira was a Christian and member of the West Road Church of Christ.

He is survived by four children, Clifford Lansdown and wife Joyce of Clarkridge, AR, Barbara McCutchen and husband Luell of Flippin, AR, Norma Swan and husband John of Hillsboro, MO and Charles Lansdown and wife Carrie of Fort Worth, TX; three step daughters, Linda Nolan Duffy and husband John of Gilbert, AZ, Carolyn Moody of Bull Shoals, AR and Gayla Peterson and husband Rick of Louisburg, MO; son-in-law Don Johnson of Diamond City, AR; nine grandchildren, Nichole Lane and husband Mark of Gainesville, MO, Darin Collins and wife Elizabeth of Haysville, KS, David Collins of Haysville, KS, Delbert McCutchen and wife Vivian of Flippin, AR, Alan Swan and wife Carie of Oklahoma City, OK, Christy McKinley and husband Mike of Colorado Springs, CO, Craig Swan and wife Lisa of Colorado Springs, CO, Chris Lansdown and wife Holly of Ocean Springs, MS and Michelle Overstreet and husband Ryan of Wichita, KS; three step grandchildren, Michael Nolan, Kerrie England and Victor Hopper. He also leaves eighteen great grandchildren, Alex, Andrew and Megan Lane, Jason Lansdown, Chrissy and Jacob Collins, Heather Collins, Kyle McCutchen, Caryn and Celtie Swan, Keeghan and Braeden McKinley, Abigail Swan, Luke, Trenton and Isabella Lansdown, Hayden and Brooklyn Overstreet.

Ira was preceded in death by his mother and father, Samuel and Hester Lansdown; four brothers; and four sisters; his first wife Geneva and second wife Elsie; one daughter Doris Johnson; one infant son Darrell Lansdown; and one grandson Roger Lansdown.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, October 19, 2012 at the Gainesville Church of Christ, Gainesville, MO with Halbert Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Fannon Cemetery south of Ava, MO. Visitation will be Thursday evening, October 18th from 5-7 p.m. at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
