Irene Dooms

Lillie Irene Dooms, 91 years, 7 months, 11 days old, passed away on December 15, 2022 at Mercy Hospital ER in Springfield, MO with her family by her side.

Irene was born May 4, 1931 in Cold Springs, MO to Rufus and Alice (Hutchison) Keller.

She grew up in the Cold Springs community and attended Champion School and Ava Public Schools.

On Nov. 1, 1949 Irene and Alvie Dooms were united in marriage in Marion County, AR and to this union they were blessed with four children.

Irene was a U.S. Postal Mail Carrier for over 50 years!! She retired at the age of 85! Irene was amazing and still owned her own mail route. Irene dedicated her life to Jesus from an early age. She was a Christian and a member of the Church of Christ in Ava. Irene devoted her whole life to her children. She derived great joy in cooking meals for her family. Her home was always an open door and everyone was welcomed. It was always the family gathering place. Irene loved her flowers and working in her yard.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Esther Wrinkles and one brother, Cecil Keller.

She is survived by her children and their spouses; David & Teresa Dooms, Brenda Blades, Beverly & Karl Keller, and Kirk & Judy Dooms; six grandchildren, Justin Blades & Jessica Thomas, Jeremiah Johnson, Amber Johnson, Ashley & Clay Forrest, Ryan & Ashley Dooms and Tyler Dooms; seven great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services for Irene will be Monday, December 19, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Denlow Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, December 18 ^th from 3:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Clinkingbeards. Officiating will be Pastor Ed Williamson and Pastor J.D. Grissom. Memorials may be made to the Denlow Cemetery.
