Elva Irene Richards, 85 years, passed to heaven on November 22, 2013 at Mercy Hospital.

Irene was born November 16, 1928 in Roy, MO to Orla and Anna (Morgan) Bricker.

Irene and Jack Richards were united in marriage on March 13, 1948 in Ava MO. Irene and Jack were blessed with two children.

Irene was a homemaker and enjoyed working on the farm, tending her chickens, gardening and going to garage sales. She was a Christian and attended Goodhope General Baptist when she was able. Irene enjoyed playing bingo at the nursing home.

Irene was preceded by her parents, her husband Jack in 2008, daughter Pauletta in 2003, and a brother Charles.


Irene is survived by son Tony Richards, Ava, MO, grandsons, Cody & Lisa Richards and Rusty & Tina Ryan, one granddaughter Rhonda Hollingsworth, great grandchildren Braxton Richards, Makenzie, Madison and Jacob Hollingsworth, Tyler and Ashley Ryan and Jacob Nannie, son-in-law Ronald & Debbie Ryan, Eureka Springs, AR, brothers, Raymond and Johnnie Bricker.


Funeral services for Irene will be Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO, with burial in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 to 7:30 in the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Vernon Fuller and Pastor David Welch. Memorials may be made to Mt Tabor Cemetery
