Irene L. Trent

Irene L. Trent, 83, of Gainesville, MO passed to heaven on July 16, 2011 at Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House in Mountain Home, AR. She was born July 19, 1927 in Hannover, Germany to Fritz and Milly (Beuermann) Luckardt.


Irene met and married SFC Robert G. Trent of the US Army. After growing up in the very unsettled country of Germany, Irene and Robert transferred to the United States with their young son, Don. Irene became a U.S. citizen in 1956. Her parents settled in Ozark County in 1964, and soon it also became home to Irene and Robert. Irene began volunteering in her community. She became the Administrator for Ozark County Senior Center, a position she held for 17 years. She remained a very beloved figure around Gainesville even after her retirement. Irene was a Christian and a member of the United Methodist Church in Theodosia, MO. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a tremendous role model for all. She will be greatly missed.

Irene was preceded by her parents Fritz C.and Milly Luckardt; and her husband Robert G. Trent. She is survived by her son Don Trent and his wife Carolyn of Hopkinsville, KY; grandchildren Tammy Tankersley, Teri Renai Trent, Tricia Austin and Tera Heltsley; great grandchildren Trent, Dean, Dustin, Devin, Dylan and Madison; one sister Renate Borneman and her husband Fred of Ft. Myers, FL; nieces Katrina Borneman and Kristina and Matthew Heim and their children Alexandra and Jonathan.


Graveside Funeral services for Irene will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 in the Lilly Ridge Cemetery with Gene West officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 19, 2011 from 5-7 pm in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Ozark County Senior Center. On line condolences may be made to www.clinkingbeardfuneralhome.com.
