IVA DELLAR HILLHOUSE McGINNIS
Iva Dellar (Hillhouse) McGinnis left this earth to join her Lord and all those who went on before her on August 8, 2007. She was born on December 22, 1906 to Samuel and Ida (Griffin) Hillhouse in Pontiac, Missouri. She was joined in wedlock to Raymond F. McGinnis on February 23, 1925. Raymond was called to preach the word in the General Baptist Church. They joined together to rear their children with love, caring and to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Iva continued spreading the word after Raymond passed away on September 4, 1980. She always tried to help people to find Jesus until her last day on this earth.
She was fortunate enough to have lived to celebrate her 100th birthday with her loving family, and is pictured above with her grandson, Randy McGinnis, on that joyous occasion. She received 300 plus cards and loved reading everyone.
Iva was one of 10 children. She always laughed that her father told people he had a family of boys, eight of whom were girls, Abert, Willie, Myrtle, Hattie, Violet, Blanche, Effie, and Eva preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister Delpha Harper of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
Iva and Raymond were blessed with eight children and raised their grandson Cleo McGinnis. Lester, Harold, Cleo and baby McGinnis preceded her in death. She is survived by Marlin and Reba McGinnis of Gainesville, Missouri, Mary Sue Walker of Houston, Texas, Ralph and Janet McGinnis of Parkville, Missouri, Dale and Pat McGinnis of Warsaw, Missouri, and Doye and Connie McGinnis of Kansas City, Kansas. She left 20 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren, and 29 great great grandchildren.
She will be missed by all who knew her, friends and family alike. She brought joy to everyone who knew her. Her smile and devout faith lifted the spirits of everyone.

Funeral Services were held Saturday, August 11, 2007 at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Gainesville, Missouri, with Woodrow Coonce officiating. Burial followed at Pontiac Cemetery. Pallbearers were Roger Walker, Gregory McGinnis, Randy McGinnis, Gary McGinnis, Duane McGinnis, Kevin McGinnis, Ricky McGinnis, Timmy McGinnis, Ronald Walker, and Kirby Walker.
