Iva B. Russell, 89 years, 8 months, and 25 days old, passed to heaven on July 20, 2011 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare.
Iva was born October 26, 1921 in Ozark County, MO to George Freeman and Alta (Loveall) Freeman.
Iva was a housewife. On February 23, 1939 Iva and Claude Raymond Russell were united in marriage in Ozark County, MO and to this union five children were born.
She was a member of the Ava Church of Christ. She was the Ava Area Oats contact for many years, and enjoyed reading, gardening, quilting, and playing checkers with her Grandchildren.
Iva was preceded by her parents, George and Alta Mae (Loveall) Corf, her husband, Claude Raymond in 1987, and three sisters, Euthal Smith and husband Vernie, Esta Smith and husband Hershel, and Marie Kiger and husband Jay, One brother, Georgia Freeman, one Grandaughter, Rebecca Barker, one grandson, Chris Russell, and two great-grandsons.
Iva is survived by five children, Ina Friend and husband Edd, Noble, MO, Danny Russell and wife Sue of Ava, Rosell Lee and husband Herbert of Seymour, MO., Dean Russell of Hohenwald, TN, and May Heying and husband Ray of Ozark MO. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, as well as many neices and nephews.
Funeral services for Iva will be Monday, July 25th, at 10:00 AM at the Clinkingbeard Chapel, with burial in the Martin Cemetery in Dora, MO. Visitation will be Monday, July 25th at 9:00 AM to service time in the funeral home. Officiating will be Brad Smith. Memorials may be made to Martin Cemetery.
