Jack Douglas Wellman, 84 years, 8 months, 9 days old, passed away on October 2, 2018 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center in Ava, MO.

Jack was born January 21, 1934 in Columbus Ohio to Roy and Gay (Ellis) Wellman and to this union nine children were born. Jack was the seventh child. Jack married Nancy Lou Cromwell in Columbus Ohio in 1953 and to this union five children were born.

Jack was a God fearing man, a retired carpet layer, master carpenter, and a Marine. He enjoyed the outdoors. He was a fearless adventurer from a young age, hitchiking across the country with a lifelong buddy at age 13. When he had his own children, he would often take them on trips up and down the East coast and into the smoky mountains. A favorite memory was scuba diving in the Florida Keys with family and relatives.

Jack was preceded in death by a son, Kraig Wesley Wellman, grand daughter, Misty Michelle Wellman, and a grandson Nathanael Wesley Wellman. He is survived by four children and their spouses, Kerry Wellman of San Diego, CA, Kelly Wellman of Corinth,Texas, Kirk and Miriam Wellman of Loveland, CO, and Kristie and Mark Tate of Ava, MO, thirteen grandchildren, Kirk Jr, Fiorella, Jennifer, Michael, Hannah, Jeremiah, Megan, Elisha, Rebekah, Eliza, Sara, Zachariah, and Isaiah, twenty-six great grandchildren, as well as many other family and friends.
