Jackie "Jack" David Johnson, 58 years, 3 months, and 16 days old, passed away on April 19, 2011 at his home.
Jack was born January 3, 1953 in Smallett, MO to Monte and Reba (Bunyard) Johnson. He graduated from Ava High School in 1970.
Jack lived most of his life in the Ava community. He was a veteran and served with the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict. He had worked at Rawlings Sporting Goods in Ava and also Emerson Electric. He enjoyed working on appliances and small engine repair.
Jack was preceded in death by his father, Monte Johnson.
Jack is survived by six children, Larry Kelley, Battlefield, MO, Anthony Johnson, Ava, MO, Jessica Lawhon, Springfield, MO, Jerry Johnson, Ava, MO, Benjamin Kelley, U.S.Army,Afghanistan and Aimee Johnson-Price, Ava, MO, three grandchildren, his mother, Reba Johnson, Ava, MO, seven brothers and sisters, Joan McKnight, Dixon, IL, Jerry Johnson, Ava, MO, Janice Barnes, Nixa, MO, Jim Johnson, Ava, MO, Judy Chaffee, Ava, MO, Jeanetta Silvey, Springfield, MO and Joe Johnson, Ashton, IL and a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial services for Jack will be Monday, April 25, 2011, 2:00 p.m. at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with full Military Honors by Ava American Legion #112 and VFW #5993. Officiating will be Pastor Mark Hatcher. Burial of his cremains will be at a later date at Walnut Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Walnut Grove Cemetery.
