James "Dallas" Chaffee

Dallas Chaffee, 75 years, 8 months, and 28 days old, passed away on June 4, 2016 at Ozark, MO.

Dallas was born September 7, 1940 in Ava, MO to Bion Fenton and Neva Adelene (Jones) Chaffee. He graduated from Ava High School.

Dallas was a resident of Ozark, MO. He was a retired truck driver for Hiland Dairy. Dallas was a Army Veteran and served during the Vietnam War.

On January 16, 1971 Dallas and Regina Lynn Alsup were united in marriage in Ava, MO.

Dallas was a member of Selmore Baptist Church in Ozark, MO.

He enjoyed old hot rod cars.


Dallas was preceded by his parents and his wife Regina Lynn in 2011.


Dallas is survived by three sons, James "Jim" W. Chaffee and wife Angie, Liberty, MO, Rick Chaffee and wife Cindy, Thornfield, MO, and Raymond Alsup and wife Brenda, Springfield, MO, six grandchildren, Jason and Liana Chaffee, Sarah and Russell Langdon, Joey and Abby Rinehart, Megan and Jammie Hurley, Mason and Jenelle Chaffee and Jessica Chaffee, eight great grandchild with one on the way, one brother, Denny Chaffee, Ava, MO, two sisters, Bonita Hinton and Pat Smedley, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.


Funeral services for Dallas will be Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial in the Ava Cemetery with full military honors by Troy Herd American Legion Post 112 and the United States Army. Visitation will be Thursday from 1:00 P.M. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Elmer Mac McCully.
