James Everett "Jim" Valentine

James Everett Valentine, 77 years, passed away on February 17, 2010 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare, Ava, MO.
Jim was born July 21, 1932 in Kansas City, MO to Max and Dicey (Spurlock) Valentine.
Jim was a welder and a truck driver and had lived most of his life in Douglas County, MO. He had also lived on and off in the state of Texas. Jim's first marriage in 1954 was to Ruth Stewart and to this union one daughter Linda was born. Later Jim married Sue Potter and to this union two children were born, Monty and Jayma. She preceded in death. Jim was a Korean Conflict Veteran and served in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed music and playing his guitar with his friends. He also loved camping and trail riding. On March 15, 2008 Jim and Rita Martin were united in marriage in Ava, MO. Jim and Rita enjoyed traveling together to various areas. Jim recently professed his faith and became a Christian.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Max & Dicey Valentine, infant twins and his first wife, Sue Potter Valentine.
Jim is survived by his wife, Rita M. Valentine, Ava, MO, three children & their spouses, Linda Sue & Vern Church, Sikeston, MO, Monty & Kathy Valentine and Jayma & Jeff Potter, all of Ava, MO, 11 grandchildren, Rocky, Ethan, Kelly, Farron, Caleb, Greg, Dalton, Brandy, Wendy, Mindy and Garrett, 11 great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter and many other relatives and friends.
Memorial services for Jim will be Friday, February 19, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. Officiating will be Rev. Don Graham and Rev. Buddy Boyd. Memorials may be made to the donors choice of charity. On line condolences may be made to www.clinkingbeardfuneralhome.com.
