James Frederick "Fred" Hitchcock, Jr.

James Frederick Hitchcock, Jr., 62 years, passed to heaven on June 5, 2009 at St.John's Regional Health Center, Springfield, MO. Fred was born October 19, 1946 in Ava, MO to James and Agnus (Brown) Hitchcock, Sr.

On March 8, 1994 Fred and Vicki Crim were united in marriage at Springfield, MO. Fred was a farmer and also worked at many other different jobs. He was a resident of Buffalo for three years moving from Springfield, MO. Fred enjoyed, fishing, watching wrestling on TV, playing pool, mechanic work and being with his family. He enjoyed his time with his grandchildren. Fred delighted in storytelling to all his friends and family. He was of the Pentecostal Faith.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Charles and one sister, Ruth.

Fred is survived by his wife, Vicki Hitchcock, Buffalo, MO, three children, James Frederick Hitchcock III, Longlane, MO, Tonya Keithley, Springfield, MO and Ronnie Fellers, Springfield, MO and numerous step children, 15 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, several step grandchildren, six brothers, Tommy, Johnny, Howard, Roy, Archie and Sherman Hitchcock, seven sisters, Shirley, Judy, Nancy, Dolly, Darlene, Viola and Emily, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.


Funeral services for Fred will be Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. in the Murray Church, Squires, MO with burial in the Murray Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 10, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to service time at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO.
