JAMES ALBERT "JIM" HICKS
Graveside funeral services for Jim Hicks, 75, of Gainesville, MO will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Howards Ridge Cemetery. Open visitation will be Friday, February 24th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
Mr. Hicks passed away on February 22, 2017 at Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House in Mountain Home, AR. He was born on January 26, 1942 in West Plains, MO, the son of Jarrett W. and Earlene Ethel (Blacksher) Hicks.
Jim grew up in Ozark County and was a graduate of Gainesville High School. He was a Veteran who proudly served his county in the United States Army. After returning from the military, Jim moved to Kansas City, MO where he worked for many years at Hallmark Card Company as a machine operator. Upon retirement, Jim moved back to Ozark County to the family farm just east of Gainesville. He was well liked by everyone who knew him. He was often seen around Gainesville, especially at Vaught's Restaurant, having coffee with his buddies. He loved spending time with his friends there trading old stories. Deer camp was also a very special place to Jim. He was blessed with lots of good friends made over the years. He was loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Jim was a Christian.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jarrett and Earlene Hicks. He is survived by several cousins, extended family and friends.
