JAMES ARTHUR HOLMES
James Arthur Holmes, 73 of Humansville, MO, formerly of Gainesville, MO, passed away on April 16, 2013 at the Citizen Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, MO. He was born on December 26, 1939 in Gainesville, MO the son of James and Celestia (McGinnis) Holmes.
James graduated from Gainesville High School class of 1957. After graduation he went to college in Maryville, MO where he earned a Masters Degree in History. He taught high school in Nebraska and Missouri and later moved back to Gainesville in the late 1970's. He was a good man who loved tracing family history.
James was preceded in death by his parents James Arthur and Celestia Holmes. He is survived by two brothers Boyd Holmes of Gainesville, MO and ex-wife Eleanor Holmes, Glen Holmes and wife Delores of Grandview, MO; one sister Madge Early of Eugene, MO; and several other extended family members.
A Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2013 in the New Hope Cemetery south of Gainesville with Bro. Gale Wooten officiating. On line condolences may be made to www.clinkingbeardfuneralhome.com.
