James "Lee" Leland Spurgeon

James "Lee" Leland Spurgeon, 87 years, 11 months, and 14 days old, passed away on July 19, 2024, in Houston, Missouri.

Lee was born August 5, 1936, in Tulare, California to George and Evelyn (Rosa) Spurgeon.

Lee was an Air Force Veteran and served honorably.  He was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany.

James and Helen Armentrout were united in marriage on April 3, 1976, in Osceola, Iowa at the Methodist Church.

James enjoyed gardening, stamp collecting, fishing, and camping.

James was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Kaye and Peggy; and a brother, John Riley.

James is survived by his wife, Helen; brother, Robert G. Spurgeon; sister, Mary Luttrell; three nieces, Bobby Millikan, Dawn Skinner, and Denise Schultz; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Cremation services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Homes, Inc., Ava, Missouri.
