James "Jim" McAllister

Ava, Missouri

James Carroll McAllister, 83 years, 3 months, 6 days old, passed away on September 7, 2017 at his home with his family by his side.

Jim was born May 31, 1934 in Flagstaff, AZ to James Joseph and Catherine Tanneyhill (Stout) McAllister. Jim was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a retired business man. He also served on the Glendale, AZ City Council. Jim was a Pilot for the U.S. Air Force serving from 1956 to 1959. He also served in the Air Force reserves at Luke Air Force Base for many years.

On Aug. 20, 1955 Jim and Louise May Broughton were united in marriage at Hollywood, CA and to this union they were blessed with four children.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Louise, four children and their spouses, Steve & Kris McAllister, Mike McAllister, James McAllister, Jr., and Cheryl & Greg Davis, 10 grandchildren, Carrie, Bryan, Ashley & Levi, Sarah, Brittany & Chase, Matthew, Joshua, Tiffany, Victoria, and Kelsey, three great grandchildren, Braxton, Shelby, and Tesla, and his one sister, Sandra Stephens.

Jim was a Christian and a member of Ava Highway Church of the Nazarene.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, bicycling and just being in the outdoors. Jim was a family man, he loved especially spending time with the grandkids.

Funeral services for Jim will be Wed. Sept. 13, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Ava Highway Church of the Nazarene with burial following in the Ava Cemetery, Ava, MO with full military honors by Troy Herd American Legion Post 112 and U.S. Air Force. Officiating will be Pastor Oren Alcorn.
