James Calvin Miller, 64 years, 7 months, and 9 days old, passed to heaven on April 27, 2012 at Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, MO.
James was born September 18, 1947 in Springfield, MO to George and Stella (Ritter) Miller. James was in the Army and served his country during Vietnam.
After returning home James worked as a welder for Mansfied Steel from June 1974 until retirement in October of 2005. James helped care for his mother for many years after George passed away.
James enjoyed wood working and building furniture. He was partial to Model T Roadsters and was a collector of single cylinder engines and was a member of the Ozarks Threshers' a club of enthusiast of those engines and of steam powered equipment. James was a Christian.
James was preceded in death by his parents.
James is survived by a sister, Theda Sanders and her husband Leo, Leasburg, MO, nieces Tritonia Sanders and Leslie Coffman and husband Rob, grand nephew Josiah Coffman, uncles Mack Miller and Bob Ritter, Aunt, Violet Morris and husband Hugh, Aunt Lois, Aunt Rosie Ritter, Aunt Nora & husband, Lee, many cousins and friends.
Funeral services for James will be Tuesday, May 1st, 11:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial in the Dyer Cemetery and Military Honors by Ava American Legion #112 and VFW #5993. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Robert Miller. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 378 Hwy H, Leasburg, MO 65535 for James' great nephew, Josiah Coffman Autism, Applied Behavioral Analysis and Speech Therapy Fund.
