James Howard Pilcher

James Howard Pilcher, 79 years, of Gainesville, MO, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2011 at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, AR.

Jim was born January 15, 1932 in Rock Island, IL to Harold and Ruth (Goben) Pilcher. He grew up in Illinois. In 1959, Jim and his first wife, Shirley and 3 children moved to Denver, CO. He lived in Colorado until his retirement from Public Service Company in 1991, at which time he and his 2nd wife, Agnes moved to Gainesville, MO. Jim loved fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a firefighter with the Gainesville Fire Department. Besides his family, Jim leaves many friends and his beloved dog, Lolly.


Jim was preceded in death by his wife Agnes (Folsom) Pilcher; his parents Harold and Ruth Pilcher; one brother Richard Pilcher; and two grandchildren Shannon and James Cook.


Jim is survived by his children James Pilcher Jr and wife Susan of Highland Ranch, CO; Cheryl Lowder of Long Beach, CA; Mike Pilcher and his fiance Gina of Davenport, IA; Ken Cook and wife Deborah of Gainesville, MO; and Joyce Bittmann of Brooksville, FL; along with 8 grandchildren: David, Mathew, William, Tim, Nicholas, Bill, Christina, and Stephanie; and 4 great grandchildren Michael, Emily, Austin and Leana.


A Graveside Memorial Service for Jim will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May, 17, 2011 in the Sims Cemetery, Gainesville, MO with Full Military Honors.
