James Thomas Sallee, 100 years, 7 months, and 5 days old, passed to heaven on June 18, 2012 at Mt. Vernon Place Care Center, Mt. Vernon, MO.

Jim was born November 13, 1911 in Pondfork, MO to James Barton and Mary Ellen (Hobbs) Sallee.



Jim was a resident of Mt. Vernon, MO since 1962 moving from Ozark County, MO. He was a retired farmer and minister. Jim attended high school at Thornfield and graduated from Ava. On December 8, 1934 Jim and Lena M. Evans were united in marriage in Pondfork, MO and to this union two children were born.



Jim was a Christian and Pastored several area churches through the years. He and Lena enjoyed the fellowship of the many churches and their members. He loved turkey hunting and also enjoyed deer and elk hunting and fishing.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lena in 2009, six brothers, Clarence, Kelly, Claude, Roy, Raleigh and Glesco Sallee, four sisters, Edith Hicks, Ethel Hicks, Clella Alfrey and Mae Duckworth and one great great grandson, Jacobie Goetz.

Jim is survived by two children, Carl Sallee & wife, Beth, Mt. Vernon, MO and Bernice {Sally} Knight & companion, Larry Vandermarkt, Eagle Rock, MO, four grandchildren, Tom Sallee, Sharon Kluhsman, Randall Prock and Andela Wilson, 11 great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.



Funeral services for Jim will be Thursday, June 21, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Thornfield Cemetery, Thornfield, MO. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating will be Sister Nylene McKnight. Memorials may be made to Thornfield Cemetery.
