JAMES EUGENE TERRY

James Terry, 78, of Gainesville, MO passed away June 22, 2018 at his residence. He was born June 15, 1940 in Oakland, AR, the son of John Raymond and Ruth M. (Huelsenbeck) Terry.

James graduated from Gainesville High School in 1959. After high school he joined the Navy and trained as an Electronic Technician. During this time he married Sheron Elliott and they had one son, Darren Eugene Terry. He then moved to Kansas City, MO where he started working in Electronics, but eventually ended up in Supervision. He also worked at NASA in Houston, TX for one year. During his time living in Kansas City, he met the love of his life, Carolyn Browning. The couple married on April 16, 1987, and in 1989 they moved back to Gainesville.

James enjoyed gardening and what he didn't use he gave away to family and friends. He also enjoyed playing his guitar with family and friends and teaching others how to play.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn Terry of the home; one son Darren Terry and wife Dionna of Manteca, CA; one brother Kenneth Terry and wife Carol of Gainesville, MO; two sisters Pat Hackler and husband Lee of Alma, AR, Dian Luna and husband Ron of West Plains, MO; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Ruth Terry; six uncles and one aunt.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2018 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO with Dale Roberts officiating. Visitation will be Monday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. to service time. Burial will be in the Price Place Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Memorial contributions may be given to St Jude Children's Research Hospital or Price Place Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
