Janice Darlene Grooms the daughter of John Lewis West and Janie (House) West was born May 8, 1937 in Houston, Texas. Janice passed away at the Heart of the Ozarks Health Care Center on December 21, 2010 at the age of 73 years 7 months and 13 days.
On January 14, 1963 Janice and Don Elroy Grooms Sr. were united in marriage in Conroe, TX. Janice was a resident of Ava for the past year. She was employed as a nurse aid before her retirement and enjoyed fishing, BINGO and playing on the Computer. Janice attended the Life Church of Ava for as long as her health permitted.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Billy Feaster and Wanda Moore and her husband, Don. She is survived by four sons, James Albrecht, Don Grooms Jr., Ray Grooms and Kevin Grooms and a special son, Steven Armitage, all of Ava, MO, one Niece, Melony Stidham of Houston, TX, one Nephew Ronnie Stidham, also of Houston, TX and her many friends and family in Fort Worth, TX. The family would like to give a special thanks to the Heart of the Ozarks and National TV.
Cremation services are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, Mo. Memorial services will be at the Heart of the Ozarks Health Care Center at a later date. Donations can be made in the form of Love Offerings to the family.
