Ava, Missouri

Jay Scot Bryan, 68 years, 5 months, and 19 days old, passed away on, May 18, 2026, at his home with his family by his side.

Jay was born November 29, 1957, in Norwalk, California to John Clifford and Mary Maxine (Beck) Bryan.

He was a Christian and member of the Walnut Grove Baptist Church in Ava, Missouri.

Jay was a Chef and worked many years and served many thousands of people. He also was a volunteer firefighter in Golden Valley, Arizona.

Jay and Nannette Millsaps were united in marriage on April 19, 2003 in Ava, Missouri.

He enjoyed fishing, camping, bike riding, photography, and spending time outdoors. He loved animals and was always willing to help an animal in need.

Jay was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Harold Bryan.

Jay is survived by his wife; children, Melissa Maestas (Steven), Jessica Mack(Lucas), Dena Payne, Mathew Detwiler(Crystal), and Rosie Friendshuh(Mike); grandchildren, Devyn Jeremy, Selena Marie, Hunter Haze, Emberly Lynn, Seth, Kaydence, Grace, Zacchaues, Ivy, Katelyn, and Vivian; siblings, Skip Bryan, Jim Bryan, Nancy Allgood, Paul Bryan, Sr., Don Bryan, Mark Bryan, and Allie Bryan Hook; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Jay will be Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 10:00 AM in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Homes, Inc., Ava, Missouri. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 AM to service time. Burial will be in the Ava Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Robert Roberts and Mathew Detwiler. Memorials may be made to the family as a love offering.
