Jeanette Marie Nava, 78 years, 4 months, 27 days old, passed away on, July 5, 2026, at James River Nursing and Rehabilitation in Springfield, Missouri.

Jeanette was born February 9, 1948, in Moline, IL to Marvin Lee and Julia Margaret (Pauwels) Nicholson.

She was a Registered Nurse and had received her education from Prince George Community College in Maryland. She worked in hospitals and home health. Jeanette was a dedicated nurse and believed in caring for her patients. She eventually became a Director for a healthcare facility out of Colorado.

On April 15, 1967 Jeanette and John Ward Schmacht were united in marriage at Moline, IL at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. To this union they were blessed with two sons, T.J. and Brandon.

Her passion was quilting. She blessed many people with gifting her quilts and loved attending quilt retreats several times a year. She also enjoyed traveling with her grandchildren, sisters, and family. In addition, Jeanette volunteered at the Baby House with other ladies where they knitted baby clothing and blankets for mother’s and babies in need.

Jeanette was a Christian.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Carolyn, Mike, Colleen, and Jeff.

Jeanette is survived by her children, T.J. (Tussy) Schmacht and Brandon Schmacht; two grandchildren, Zach Schmacht (Rachel) and Alec Schmacht (Erin); two great-grandchildren, Jaden and Amelia; her siblings, Judy (Scott), Gary, Shirlee (Jody), and Dan (Mary); many nieces and nephews that were near and dear to her heart.

Cremation services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home Ava, Missouri. The family will be having a celebration of her life at a later date and time.
