Jerry D. Dooley, 81 years old passed away at his home August 20, 2016.
Jerry was born to Kenneth C. Dooley and Elinore Weiland on March 5, 1935 in Plattsmouth Nebraska. He was raised in South Dakota and Wyoming.
He joined the US Army in 1955. During this time he met and married Patricia (Pat) Stelmach. They were married in June of 1956 and to this union 7 children were born. During their 60 year marriage they lived many places across the country, finally settling in Reynolds County Mo in 1975. They moved to their Ozark home in 2004. He was a carpenter by trade.
Jerry loved his family first and foremost. He loved the outdoors: hunting, fishing, boating and golfing. He enjoyed teaching his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren all about the joys and wonders of the outdoors. After his retirement he loved to work in the shop fabricating small projects.
He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughters Katelyn Dooley in 2007 and Arlea Dooley in 2016.
He is survived by his wife Patricia of the home; his children: Patrick his wife Elsie of Alcester SD, Kenneth and his wife Arianne of North Pole AK, Sherry Reynolds and husband John of Ellington MO, Sue Farris and her husband Vince of TN, Vaughn Dooley and his wife Patty of Theodosia, Cory Witting and her husband Jan of Capo Beach, CA, and Dan Dooley and his wife Kelly of Blackburn MO; 19 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services with Full Military Honors are planned for Friday, August 26, 2016, 10am at Lutie Cemetery with Father Paul Wightman officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the family and sent to Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, PO Box 65, Gainesville, MO.
