Jerry Lester Ghramm

Jerry Lester Ghramm, 76 years, 8 months, and 18 days old, passed to Heaven on December 26, 2013 at St. Anthony's Hospital, St. Louis, MO, with his wife by his side.

Jerry was born April 8, 1937 in Richland, MO to Leslie and Laverne (Wilson) Ghramm. After graduating from Richland High School in 1953, Jerry joined the United States Air Force. After his discharge he attended Southwest Missouri State University.

Jerry was employed by and retired from the City of St. Louis, Water Division.

Jerry and Karen Evans were united in marriage on May 21, 1960 at Miami, OK. Jerry loved helping people, he had a kind word and a smile for everyone. Jerry and Karen had and enjoyed horses for many years. Jerry was well known for wearing his overalls.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, John, brother-in-law, Wayne Johnson, and his father and mother-in-law, Johnnie and Vivian (Watterson) Evans.


Jerry is survived by his wife Karen, of the home, a sister, Velda Johnson, Waynesville, MO, and several nieces and nephews and many friends.


Funeral services for Jerry will be Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava. Burial will be in the Ava Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Officiating will be Pastor Oren Alcorn . Memorials may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
