Jerry Landon Holman

Jerry Landon Holman, son of Lathern A. Holman and Larna Beatrice Dotson Holman was born on April 30, 1937 in Ava, MO and went home to be with his Lord on Sept. 16, 2007 in Heart of the Ozarks Health Care, Ava, MO at the age of 70 years, 4 months and 16 days.

Jerry was a lifelong resident of the Ava community. He was a Christian and a member of the First Southern Baptist Church, Ava, MO. Jerry worked at many different jobs here in Ava. He was employed with the Avalon Theatre and the Dairy Queen for several years. He also had worked at hauling hay and coal and he also mowed yards for almost everyone here in Ava. Jerry loved people and they loved him. He enjoyed working and was adored by his family. To Jerry's great great nieces and nephews, he had always referred to them as "his grandchildren". He loved them dearly. Jerry's smiling face will be missed but never forgotten.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Charles Donald Holman and one great niece, Shelly Heinlein Fesler.
He is survived by one sister, Naomi Stephens, Ava, MO, niece and nephew, Dewayne & Mary "Winky" Stephens and Charlotte & Leonard Koop, three great nephews, Steven & Jennifer Heinlein, Shannon & Shelby Koop and Shane Koop, four great great nieces & nephews, Gracie Lynn & Cory Ray Heinlein and Shaelynn & Cohen Koop and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services for Jerry will be Wed., 2:00 p.m., Sept. 19, 2007 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with the Pastors Tom Maples and Bobby Page officiating. Interment will follow in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. with prayer led by Pastor Dwight Wilson. Family requests memorials to the family as a love offering in care of the funeral home.
