JERRY E. MARTIN

Jerry E. Martin, 60, of Gainesville, MO, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2011. He is preceded in death by his father, Gerald Martin. He leaves behind his life partner, Cheri Shultz of Gainesville, MO; his mother, Lillian (Smith) Martin of Springfield, MO; two brothers Patrick Martin of Winfield, KS and Michael Martin of Springfield, MO; two sons Emmett Martin and wife Leslie of California, Terry Martin and wife Brooke of California; niece Leilani Martin Mork and husband Billy of Springfield, MO; Aunt Shirley Montoya of California and Uncle Eddie Smith of California. He also left behind other special people: Jennifer Shultz, Heather Hollrath, Cody Polland and Nathan Polland.

Jerry was born on November 9, 1950 in Camp Pendelton Ocean Side, CA. Raised as a military child, he traveled everywhere from Hawaii to Japan. He had a strong love for his country and received two purple hearts while serving in Vietnam. He settled in the Ozarks in the early 1990's and it has been his home ever since. He worked for Nash and Sons as a diesel mechanic for fifteen years and was currently employed at Epoxyn in Mountain Home. He had a great passion for fishing and was a member of the Gainesville bass club. He loved to dance and was an avid story teller. Jerry, your laughter and compassion will be truly missed.

A Memorial Service for Jerry will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2011 in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Gainesville, MO with Jim Kyle officiating.
