Jerry Wayne Roberson, 72 years, 10 months, 9 days old, passed away May 31, 2017 at his home in Ava with his family by his side.
Jerry was born July 22, 1944 in Waynesville, MO to Christy and Edna Mae (Williamson) Roberson.
Jerry joined the Navy February 1963. He was deployed on the destroyer USS Chevalier during the Vietnam Conflict. He was honorably discharged January 23, 1967.
Jerry received his Degree as an Industrial Engineer. He worked and retired from Emerson Electric/Copeland in May of 2010 in Ava, MO.
Jerry was an avid hunter and fisherman sharing many memories with his friends and family.
Jerry was a born again believer in Jesus and a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church in Ava.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents. Jerry is survived by his five children, Stephanie Hall and husband, Jason, Ava, MO; Chris Bekas and wife, Tammie, Ash Grove, MO; Brian Roberson and wife, Wendy, and Angela Stringer and husband, Preston, all of Ozark, MO; and Van Bekas and wife, Rebecca, Pierce City, MO; former wife and close friend, Karian Donnelly; many grandchildren, McKenzie, Kale, Christopher, Megan, Jimmy, Robbie, Brett, Katie, Emily, Brock, Kimberly, Alison, and great granddaughter, Riley; one brother, Warren and one sister, Donna,
nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Jerry will be Tuesday, June 6, 2017, 10:00 a.m. at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Ava, MO. Officiating will be Father Paul Wightman and Deacon Joe Kurtenbach. Visitation will be Monday, June 5th at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Ava, MO. Burial will be Tuesday, June 6th at 2:00 p.m. in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 5201 S. Southwood Rd., Springfield, MO, with Full Military Honors. Officiating graveside will be Pastor Buddy Boyd. Memorials may be made to a Veteran's Organization of the donors choice.
