Jerry Andrew Teal, age 78, passed away June 2, 2023, in Nevada, Missouri.

Jerry was born September 8, 1944, in Crossroads, Missouri to Chesley Teal and Ruby Howard.  He grew up on a farm and graduated from Ava High School in 1963.  He owned his own business, Teal Radiator Service, for many years.  He started racing stock cars in the late 70's and continued well into the 90's.  Racing was his passion.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Chesley and Ruby Teal; a brother, Denzil Teal; a sister, Lorene Nicopolis; and a son, David Jones.

Survivors include a brother, Kenneth Teal of Ava, Missouri; sisters Wanda McElfish and Iris Blevins, both of Springfield, Missouri, Betty Ridenour of Ava, Missouri, and Margie (Marvin) Butler of Rogersville, Missouri; sons, Troy (Carrie) Teal of Webb City, Missouri, Chesley Teal, and daughter, Connie (Clay) Herrell, both of Springfield, Missouri; five grandchildren, Rian (Kaitlin) Teal of Webb City, Missouri, Keaton Teal of Dayton, Ohio, Helena (Byron) Carlson and Aidan Keeler both of Springfield, Missouri, and David Teal of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and three great grandchildren, Fisher, Stetson, and Karson.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava, Missouri from 10:00 to 12:00.  A private burial service will be at a later date.
