Jimmy was born September 23, 1966 in Mtn. Grove, MO to Walter and Eula (Parsons) Massey.

Jimmy and Marcy Sparbel were united in marriage on March 15, 2008 at The Black Jack Church in Drury, MO.


Jimmy was a great story teller, sometimes even believing his stories to be true. Jimmy enjoyed hunting and fishing, running his coyote dogs and horseback riding. Jimmy adored his family, he especially loved being with his granddaughter , Aspyn. Lovingly known as "Big Jim", Jimmy had a heart as big as he was.


Jimmy was preceded by his father, one sister, Sandra Joann, his grandparents, Lowell and Virginia Parsons, and Giddeon B. and Lois Massey.


Jimmy is survived by his wife, Marcy, of the home, his mother, Eula Parsons, and step-dad, Kent Lee, mother -in-law, Wilma Hicks, children, Steven Sparbel, Norwood, MO, Samantha Sparbel, Mtn. Grove, MO, Gary Perkins, Vanzant, MO, Tammy and David Rhoads, Drury, MO, Jerome Massey, Vanzant, MO, Tommy and Amanda Driskel, Dora, MO, granddaughter, Aspyn Faith, many nieces, nephews, and friends.



Funeral services for Jimmy will be Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at The Black Jack Church, Drury, MO with burial in the Blanche Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 at the church. Officiating will be Curtis Tackitt. Memorials may be made to love offerings to the family. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO.
