JOAN MARY HUFFINE

Joan Huffine, 94, of Gainesville, MO passed away June 25, 2019 at the Shady Oaks Nursing Home in Thayer, MO. She was born July 3, 1924 in Rushden, England the daughter of Frank and Mary Elizabeth (Garret) Taylor.

Her family moved to the United States before Joan's second birthday, settling in Long Beach, CA. Joan grew up there and graduated high school from Long Beach Polytechnic. She was united in marriage to Vernon Huffine in January of 1944. She later went back to junior college before working as a medical office assistant for many years. She was an artist, specializing in oils and stained glass, but loved all sorts of artwork. She enjoyed everything from sewing, to floral décor, to doing hair.
She and Vernon moved to the Ozarks in 1990 and enjoyed their retirement years together. Vernon preceded her in death in July of 2012.

She is survived by her son Jeffrey Huffine of Cherokee Village, AR; her daughter Jan Madden and husband John of Gainesville, MO; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one great- great grandchild.

No services are planned. The family has honored Joan's wish for cremation. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
