JOE DAVID BOYER

Joe David Boyer, 71, of Gainesville, MO passed away February 16, 2019 at his residence. He was born January 28, 1948 in Gainesville, the son of Daniel William "Bill" and Rosezelle (Davis) Boyer.

Joe was a 1967 graduate of Gainesville High School. After graduation, he proudly served his country during Vietnam in the United States Army. Joe served as a helicopter crew chief on a medevac hauling injured soldiers out of harm's way. Joe came back to Gainesville and went to work for Mar-Bax Shirt Factory in Gassville, AR. He worked there 22 years, then worked for Wal-Mart for five. He loved to write short stories, take pictures, look at his owls, and play music. He enjoyed being with his friends and family.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother Leroy Boyer. He is survived by his cousins Tom Pitcock and Mary of Gainesville, MO, Bob Davis and Linda of Gassville, AR, Bill Pitcock of Valpraiso, NE, Jim Pitcock and June of Paradise, CA, Anna Whisnant of Gainesville, MO; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will honor Joe's wish for cremation. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2019 under the pavilion at Hoerman Memorial Park, Gainesville, MO with Dale Roberts officiating . Arrangements are under the care and direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
